THE PROGRAM IN ACTION
RECRUIT TRAINING
To become a Young Marine, you must first earn the right to be a Young Marine. The first step is the recruit training program, a many weeks long program preparing you with knowledge, physical fitness, discipline and confidence. The Recruit Training is taught by current Young Marines that have earned the right and privilege to train the next group to join the Foothills Young Marines.
COMMUNITY
Young Marines in the Foothills Unit place a lot of importance on community involvement. Through our work with veteran organizations, communities in need and other community services groups, Foothills Young Marines always have opportunities to help their community and help themselves learn the importance of supporting others.

COLOR GUARDS & PARADES
One of the most exciting aspects of being a Young Marine in the Foothills Unit is our connections with parades, color guards & honor guards. Presenting the Colors at a Rockies Game, or marching in a parade in Downtown Denver, our Young Marines are always excited about the next opportunity and where it will be!

AWARDS & PROMOTIONS
Foothills Young Marines work hard and they get recognized for this hard work with promotions in rank and receiving awards. As Young Marines go up in rank, so does their responsibilities and ability to lead others. Young Marines will complete activities and learn new skills to earn ribbons and awards.
EDUCATION
The Young Marines have a strong focus on education, in addition to all the activities. We place a strong focus on drug and alcohol resistance, first aid training, and other important life skills. Foothills Young Marines also bring in guest speakers and educators, from time to time to speak to the Young Marines.

FIELD TRAINING
Foothills Young Marines takes camping to a whole new level with our Field Training programs. Young Marines learn valuable land navigation, knot-tying, camping and survival skills. With regular encampments, the Foothills Young Marines experience time away from home while gaining confidence, discipline and knowledge.
